Newport High School Orchestra is excited to collaborate with Evergreen City Ballet to present a brand-new production of Coppélia, an enchanting, family ballet, perfect for young and old alike, where love triumphs over all in a comedy of mistaken identity. Coppelia will feature live music performed by the Newport Philharmonic, conducted by Barney Blough, and dance performed by the Evergreen City Ballet, under the direction of Maximiliano Guerra with choreography by Myriam Barroso. This unique collaboration provides young musicians and dancers with the experience of working together on a live show, resulting in a wonderfully joyful performance that’s sure to enchant audiences of all ages. Coppélia will be held May 3-5 at the Newport Performing Arts Center.
